What it is

I built WizSearch to find sound effects, GIFs and short clips while editing videos. It searched several sources from one box and showed previews in one grid. I could keep useful files in a local library. The project is archived.

How it works

The React view sent a query to a Rust host. Source adapters searched public endpoints and returned results to one preview grid. Choosing a file downloaded it and checked for duplicates. SQLite indexed the local collection so I could find it again.

Flow

  1. Search query
  2. Rust source adapters
  3. Preview grid
  4. Selected download
  5. SQLite collection

The problem

Reddit search stopped working when its public endpoints returned 403 to unauthenticated requests. I confirmed the failure with both a browser style user agent and a descriptive one. The remaining path needed a per user OAuth credential, which broke the keyless goal. I removed Reddit rather than leave a dead source in the app.
